Description

Do you have refugees or recent migrants in your class this year? Are you interested in learning more about how trauma affects learning?

Please register to join us for part 3 of our Welcoming Refugees Study Series on meeting the needs of refugee and trauma-affected children and youth in our classrooms on April 5th, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A catered dinner will be included.

The STA Anti Poverty committee is happy to invite all Surrey teachers to this event.

You may have been able to attend our first 2 sessions held on January 17 and February 17, 2017, and you are invited to attend session three. It is not necessary to have attended the other sessions, all Surrey teachers are welcome.

Corinna Carroll from DiverseCity will be discussing resources, connection and trauma for Session 3 based on the questions and suggestions forwarded to her from our first 2 sessions. After that we will have a short teacher-ideas workshop including sharing our classroom practices, insights and questions in a gallery walk. We will then have a wonderful dinner together, which will be followed by door prizes!
